Real Madrid VS FC Barcelona: Match Preview

An exciting Supercopa de España tie between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid takes place in Saudi Arabia, whoever wins will either face Atletico Madrid or Athletic Bilbao. (depending on their game taking place a day after El Clásico)

El Clásico is always a special event even after the departures of Messi and Ronaldo it is still a very important fixture in the world of football, (some would argue still the biggest fixture) proving this, was the fact that all 30,000 tickets available for the fixture taking place in the King Fahd Stadium of Saudi Arabia were sold within an hour of being made available for purchase.

Recovered players

Both Barca and Real have had their fair share of injuries, for Madrid, it was at the start of the season for Barca it has been there since the start and is still haunting them, however, Xavi and Ancelotti would have somewhere near their strongest 11 available for selection.

For Barca, Ronald Araujo, Ansu Fati, and Frenkie De Jong recovered from their respective injuries while Ferran Torres and Pedri both recovered from their injury as well as from Covid, just in time before El Classico, whether or not Xavi would risk these players is completely up to him but it is good to have the option.

Barca had to work hard to register Ferran Torres, even after Coutinho left there was still not enough space on the wage bill to add him, so they renewed Umtiti till 2026 but he wouldn't be getting a single euro extra, instead, the money he had to get till 2023(till his previous contract would end) will now be spread across till 2026 allowing Barca to increase their 'Financial Fair Play' quota allowing them to register Ferran Torres. Who might make his debut against Real Madrid.

For Real, they recovered Dani Carvajal from injury and Luka Jovic from Covid, the only notable absentee is Gareth Bale.

Score prediction

This Barca side might be the weakest squad in a decade or more but since Xavi's appointment they have had a special flair to them, their mentality shows on the pitch, they will do anything they have to, but it would be difficult to contain Madrid's attack which is in top form, the only way Barca can win is by outscoring them and with Barca looking to have recovered most of their forwards we think it is possible for them to win.

Our prediction is a 2-3 win in favour of Barca.
