Barcelona Looking To Offload Philippe Coutinho

After having subpar performances since the start of this season, Barcelona are looking to offload Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window according to MD journalist Roger Torello

Ever since joining Barca in 2018, Philippe Coutinho has struggled in Blaugrana colors. After a positive loan spell in Bayern Munich.

He seemed to be ready to finally show why Barca paid a club-record €160 million for him in 2018. He came back having the faith of Ronald Koeman and for a few games he played well, but after what looked like him finally settling in, he got injured and lost his place to the 18-year-old wonderkid Pedri.

When he came back from his hamstring injury, he suffered another horrible injury, this time rupturing the meniscus on his left knee, which kept him out for the remainder of last season

Since the start of this season, he looks lost, having bad performances for the most part, he scored a penalty and played arguably his best game so far in his cameo against Villarreal. He also reportedly hired a psychiatrist to help him get back to his Liverpool form, but it might just be too late, as per many reports in the Spanish media, Barca are looking to part ways with Coutinho, partially because of his worrying performances but also because him being the highest earner in the squad doesn't allow Barca to register any signings made in the January transfer window.

With Barca determined to reinforce the team in January having been linked to multiple players, most notably Ferran Torres from Manchester City seeming to be the dream target for Barca in the upcoming transfer window it would be interesting to see where Coutinho ends up with Sport reporting he has been offered to Manchester City and Manchester United, but the player seems to want another go at proving his worth in Barcelona colors.
