A Look At Barcelona's Potential Summer Signings

It looks like FC Barcelona are going to have a very busy 2022 as they have been looking at a lot of players to potentially join the club in the summer transfer window.
Here's a look at some potential signings:

André Onana

The former La Masia goalkeeper (25) who was banned by UEFA for violating doping rules has been linked to pretty much every big club in Europe. Now he is linked with Barca, (again) who want to get him on a free in the summer of 2022, he fits the profile needed for a Barca keeper and could also provide some much-needed competition to Ter Stegen or maybe even replace him in the future.

But according to many reports, he already has an agreement with Italian giants Inter Milan. But as he said in an interview in April of 2020 he could always return to Barca as he still considers it his home. There are many clubs in the race to sign him including Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Lyon, OGC Nice among many others but Barca and Inter Milan look like the frontrunners to get his signature in the summer of 2022.

Andreas Christensen

The Danish Centre-Back (25) who plays for Chelsea refused to extend his contract with Chelsea 3 months ago which stalled talks, leading to Barca showing interest in the player, however, Christensen still wants to stay at Chelsea with a bigger salary, but the blues did not leave their ground and want him to sign the contract now, which could leave Barca in a tricky spot as they might not be able to afford him but they are still in the race to sign him if talks with Chelsea break down.

Edinson Cavani

Since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani's (34) prominence at the club has shrunken down with only 5 matches played so far in the premier league and injury worries, it looks like his short spell in England is set to be over when his contract expires next summer, with Barca being the most likely to get his signature. It all depends on Manchester United's new interim manager Ralf Rangnick, if he trusts Cavani and plays him often he might end up staying, if not, we might see him in Barcelona next season.

César Azpilicueta

The Chelsea captain and Spanish international Right-Back(32), is liked in Barca because of his experience, versatility, and how he reads and interprets the game. One of the best right-backs in the world could leave Chelsea at the end of the season after 9 glorious years at Chelsea winning 1 Champions League, 2 English Premier Leagues among many other titles. He could be making a comeback to La Liga with Barca as he rejected Chelsea's 1st contract extension, it remains to be seen if he will renew at Chelsea or look for a new challenge elsewhere.

Franck Kessie

Barcelona have looked to replace Sergio Busquets for quite some time now and Franck Kessie (24) might just be it. Even though he is a defensive midfielder he is excellent when attacking with his speed and strong physical abilities he is one of the most well-rounded midfielders in the world. But it won't be easy for Barca as AC Milan is Kneen on renewing his contract which ends next summer, and many big clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham are all looking to sign him.

Some Less Likely options

Antonio Rudiger

Another Chelsea player liked by Barca who ends his current contract next summer. Antonio Rudiger (28) could end up being a great signing but it isn't likely that he would join Barca because there are other clubs that would offer more money, Bayern, PSG, Real Madrid to name a few.

Paul Pogba

Ever since joining Manchester United for 105 million Euros, Paul Pogba (28) has been average at most, after starting this season in top form it seemed like he is finally proving why United paid a huge sum of money for him, but after 9 Premier League games he has gone back to old self at united, showing potential but not delivering. it looks like his time in Manchester is finally over with his contract expiring next summer and him showing no interest in renewing. Barca is keeping tabs on him but it is not financially possible for them unless the player takes a wage cut which is unlikely because other clubs are interested in him

Paulo Dybala

Paulo Dybala (28) seemed lost during his time at Juventus alongside Ronaldo, but ever since Ronaldo left for the red side of Manchester Dybala has risen back to prominence bagging 4 goals and 3 assists in 11 Serie A games so far, his contract expires next season but it looks like Juventus will be able to renew him as there are reports saying they have reached an agreement with Dybala securing him at the club till 2026, but if things go south, Barca have their eyes on the situation.
