Ronald Araujo's Renewal Complicated

FC Barcelona are hoping to renew central defender Ronald Araujo for five more seasons but it doesn't seem financially easy to do so at the moment as the club have inferred that Araujo wants a pay raise.
The player earns 35,000 euros a week [salarysport] which is not a lot compared to other players of the Barcelona squad but considering Barcelona's financial situation, it will not be easy to find a way out of this.

Seeing Araujo's performances on the pitch it is understandable why he asks for a hike in salary. His fellow centre-back, Samuel Umtiti who hasn't played a single minute this season earns 263,000 euros per week [salarysport] compared to Araujo's 35,000 euros per week.

Although on the bright side, Araujo has 2 years left on his contract so there is plenty of time to try and solve this situation and give Araujo the contract he is asking for.

The clubs interested in Araujo are Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United. Liverpool seem to be the ones most interested in the player as they have been following his development for a while now and have also sent emissaries to Barcelona to get closer to the player [espn]

Araujo is a vital player for Barcelona and it would be a massive loss for the club if he leaves on a free, but, his priority is to renew for Barca [ffpolo]
