FC Barcelona & Tottenham Hotspur considering move for German Centre-back

Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter is a target for FC Barcelona & Tottenham Hotspurs.

Barcelona are eyeing a summer move for Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter incase French Central-backs Clément Lenglet or Samuel Umtiti leave.

The 27-year-old, who is with the Germany squad at Euro 2020, has made 140+ appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach since arriving from fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

Ginter enjoyed an highly impressive 2020-21 campaign at club level, making 46 outings in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist in the process

Matthias Ginter has a €30M release clause in his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

FC Barcelona are not looking to pay that sum of money & will try to negotiate the price down.

The German Central-back's contract expires in June 2022 and is set to leave Gladbach in this summer window.

Arthur Cabral: The next Lewandowski?

Barcelona were recently linked with Arthur Cabral as an option up front. The brazilian hitman could cost around 15 million.  Something which Barcelona have great problems in paying, gone are the days when that idiot Bartomeu used to spend 30 million on players not good enough for Barcelona B.  However, I believe it is a risk worth taking rather than bringing in some old striker like Cavani. Firsty, looking a bit at his profile, Cabral is an all round number 9.  He has decent pace, he is really strong, he is a good presser, has decent link up and can hold up the ball and is very good aerially too. If we compare him with Lewandowski, there arent many differences.  As you can see, they are basically the same players, with Cabral being better Aerially and pressing wise and Lewandoswki edging it in Passing Accuraccy.  Cabral has banged in 25 goals and 8 assists in just 25 games this season and altough it is in the Swiss League, it ...

Barcelona open to selling Memphis Depay amidst interest from Juventus and Roma

It is a no brainer that Memphis Depay was the most exciting prospect of the summer transfer window at the Camp Nou. But the 27 year old has failed to live upto expectations so far. Although the Dutchman has netted several goals for the Blaugrana, his lack of killer instinct in front of goal, something which the club has lacked ever since the departure of Luis Suarez and his inability to perform in big matches has raised some eyebrows at Camp Nou. Several Catalunyan media outlets have also reported that new coach Xavi Hernandez is not fully pleased with the ex Lyon man either.  Barcelona also have their eyes set on young Spaniard and Manchester City forward Ferran Torres. Add to that, talents like Ansu Fati and Yusuf Demir and one would expect nothing but flawless performances from Depay if he has to cement his place in the team. After Cristiano Ronaldo's departure to Manchester United, Juventus are looking to cash in on ex Old Trafford man Memphis Depay accor...

Four Players Barcelona Are Targeting In The Winter Transfer Window

With the arrival of Xavi, Barcelona are looking to reinforce the squad by bringing in some players in the winter transfer window. Here's a look at some of the possible options :  4. Denis Zakaria The Swiss international is heavily liked by Barça as they continue to find a replacement for ageing Sergio Busquets. Zakaria will be out of contract in June 2022 and can start talking to other clubs from January. If he doesn't renew, the winter transfer window will be the German club's last chance to sell the player, who is valued at 27 million euros. The midfielder has 2 goals and 1 assist in 10 Bundesliga appearances this season. 3. Raheem Sterling  Raheem Sterling is said to be a priority signing for Xavi in January, but the club's economic difficulties have lowered the chances of arrival of the Englishman. Sterling is open to a move to the Camp Nou, as he's not happy with his lack of game time in Manchester. 2. Arthur Cabral Arthur Cabral, 23, is on Barça's radar in...

Optimism Grows Regarding Sergi Roberto's Renewal

Sergi Roberto will be always remembered for his iconic goal in the 'La Remontada'. He has served the club for many years and has performed well enough. However, the past few seasons have not gone well for him. From hero to zero, he has received constant criticism from the fans. The fans are beginning to feel that his 'versatility' is of no use, as he doesn't offer anything special on the field. Roberto's contract is expiring in the summer of 2022. Although the renewal was close to being signed a few months ago, but then the talks between Barça and his agents collapsed. There were no contacts between the two parties for months and rumours suggested that he'll leave Camp Nou next year. But with the arrival of Xavi, optimism regarding his renewal has grown. The coach has approved his renewal as he counts on him. The renewal still remains stalled, but contacts between Roberto and Barça are expected to resume this week.  Sergi Roberto's priority is to stay at...

Barcelona 3 Villareal 1 Match Review

Sunday night’s late kickoff saw Barcelona take on Villarreal at La Ceramica.  The Yellow Submarine had not beaten the Catalan side from 2008, and it was meant to be a golden chance for them to turn the tables and it certainly was a chaotic affair. Barcelona lined up in a sort of a 3-4-2-1 with the 3 centre backs- namely Pique, Araujo and Garcia- who was given the task of Man Marking Moi Gomez it seemed. Let's just say it didn't work well. Barca b winger Abde got his first start for the club at Right Wing Back. First Half Barcelona started the Half on Fire. There was hunger, determination and aggression to win. Abde started very brightly, looking to take on his man every time and getting a cross into the box resulting in corners. The highlight of the first half was Frenkie de Jong’s wonderful through ball to Memphis Depay. Depay had a chance to easily score past the keeper to make it 1-0 but he missed - something which you don't expect from someone of the calibre of Memphis ...
